Abnet S. MELKAMU is the founder and principal attorney at Abnet Solomon Law Office (AbnetLaw). Abnet received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2010 from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom, and his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with honors in 2007 from the Ethiopian Civil Service University. In addition, in 2001, he graduated from the Ethiopian Police University with a Police Cadet Diploma.

He is admitted to practice law at all levels of the Federal Courts and Addis Ababa Municipal Courts. His practices encompass all kinds of business transactions and business disputes.
Abnet is an experienced legal professional who has worked as a senior legal counsel to the Ethiopian Minister of Transport and the Commissioner General of the Ethiopian Federal Police for more than eight years before establishing his own law firm. He had previously served as a high-ranking police officer with the Ethiopian Federal Police.

Since the establishment of AbnetLaw, he has been consulting diversified international and domestic firms on their business and legal interests in Ethiopia. He has also represented a multitude of corporate and individual clients before federal courts and administrative agencies, in alternative dispute resolution, and through internal investigations.

Abnet has significant experience in the international legal arena, including France, Italy, Israel, the United kingdom, Germany, China, the Republic of Korea, Brazil, United Arab Emiratis, Switzerland, and many African countries. His international experience helps him to understand different cultures and legal regimes, which in turn enables him to offer real international outlook-based services in Ethiopia.
